About him
I'm a divorced dad, and that's easily enough for me to be happy. But I know there will be someone out there whose company would deeply enrich my life, and who I would be foolish not to look for.
I've been on a regular dating site, and got on well with people, without being compelled to pursue anything. This site seems a lot more on my wavelength.
One quite central aspect of my personality is that I'm naturally philosophical. Not so many people relate to that, and its something that's very easy to misunderstand. I would love to meet someone who does get it, as that would open up a deeper kind of connection. It doesn't dominate me, and it doesn't mean I'm overly serious ... I'm definitely not! But it is important to me and means I'm not always fully seen by the people I know. That's frustrating sometimes.
Alongside everything else I would love to able to share with someone (music, art, nature, and other less tangible things), my thinking side is the thing that never really gets to come out. So that's why I'm here. I don't need to meet another philosophy reader though. I know that someone inclined towards art or literature may have a vision of the world close enough to mine that we can be good for each other.

I would love to meet someone who has their own authentic ideas and perspectives, and actively creates their world. That could be someone artistic or philosophical, or just anyone who is a joy to be around because they can bring surprise and wonder to any given day. Someone who sees beauty where I see it too. I don't currently get to share that kind of experience with another adult, and I know I should.
Also, I would like to meet someone who appreciates my family situation. My children are a central part of my life even though they don't live with me, and are always my priority. So I don't have lots of spare time. I'm hoping to find someone who agrees that having a connection with the right person is what matters, and exactly how that plays out is something to discover over time.
